McClain softball falls to visiting Lady Cavaliers

The McClain Lady Tigers were unable to gain a home win on Tuesday evening as they faced a tough Chillicothe Lady Cavaliers team, falling by a 13-3 score in seven innings at Daryle Unger Field in Greenfield.
McClain ended the Frontier Athletic Conference game with six hits, and they had four errors, while CHS had 15 hits and one error.
The Lady Tigers scored their runs with one run in the bottom of the first and two runs in the third inning.
CHS scored one run in the top of the first, followed by a two-run third, five runs in the fifth, one run in the sixth and a four-run seventh inning.
MHS had six players each record a hit against Chillicothe — the second meeting between the two teams this week — with Leah Lovett leading the way at 1-for-2 with a home run, one run scored, a SAC fly and three RBI.
Kambriah Tomlin was 1-for-3 with one walk on Tuesday, April 1. Brie Cummins was 1-for-4 with a run and one double. Teammate Olivia Stegbauer finished 1-for-3 with one run.
Amaya Ryan ended the FAC contest at 1-for-3, Emma Posey finished 1-for-3 and Kyndee Williams forced a walk.
McClain pitcher Williams finished with four strikeouts.
MHS moves to 1-3 overall and in the FAC.
Next is a game scheduled for Friday, April 3 at home against the Wilmington Lady Hurricane in non-conference play at 5 p.m.
