McClain girls golf hosts Piketon

The McClain girls golf team hosted Piketon in a dual match on Thursday, Aug. 7 at Buckeye Hills Country Club in Greenfield. 

Piketon won the team event and Laila Kelley was the individual medalist with a score of 37. McClain's low round was shot by Kaylin Sterling with a score of 43. 

For the Lady Tigers, the rest of their scores in the 50s included Reese Roble (52) and Maguire Ross (57). 

MHS also had Avery Murphy shoot a 62, followed by Joanie Shrout at 68 and Jaycee Watson with a score of 69. Lyla Chamblin finished with a score of 78, and also with a score of 70 was Audrey Griffin. 

Piketon’s other scores included: Alayna Hitchcock (44), Peyton Day (47), Olivia Brownfield (59), Aubree Elliott (65), Piper Brodess (65), and Haidon Horne (69). 

The Lady Tigers open up Frontier Athletic Conference play on Tuesday, Aug.12, with Washington hosting the first conference match at The Greens in Washington C.H.
