Jackson defeats McClain softball

Traveling to Jackson County to take on the Jackson Ironladies Monday evening, the McClain Lady Tigers suffered a Frontier Athletic Conference loss by a 21-7 score in five innings. 

JHS scored seven runs in the bottom of the first, and they followed with another seven-run inning in the second inning. Jackson added one run in the third and six final runs in the fourth inning. The Ironladies totaled 15 hits and had three errors. 

McClain scored six runs in the top of the fourth and added one run in the top of the fifth for their seven run total. MHS finished with eight hits and two errors. 

Brylee Douglas was 2-for-2 with one run, two RBI and a walk for MHS. Also with two hits was Brie Cummins at 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI, as one of her hits was a double. 

Leah Lovett finished the FAC game at 1-for-3 with one run and a steal. 

Amaya Ryan was 1-for-2 with two runs and a walk, with one of her two hits being a double. She also added a steal to her final totals. 

Kambriah Tomlin was 1-for-1 with one run, a walk and she was hit by a pitch. Emma Marsh scored a run for McClain. 

The loss sends McClain to a FAC record of 3-4 with an overall mark of 7-7. Jackson improves to 7-0 in the FAC and 14-6 overall. 

The two teams will play in Greenfield at Daryle Unger Field on Wednesday, April 22 at 5 p.m.
