A last-second sequence of events where defensive pressure by Logan McIntosh, Quentin McIntosh and Caleb Barrera, followed by a last-second basket at the buzzer, led to the Fairfield Lions defeating the Eastern Warriors 44-42 Tuesday night at Grandle Gymnasium in Leesburg.

The final seconds consisted of the Lions defense of Quentin McIntosh causing misdirection, followed by Logan McIntosh swiping the ball away from an Eastern player. Then came Barrera grabbing the loose ball and tossing the ball downcourt to Logan McIntosh, who made a layup as the final buzzer sounded for the two-point win in Southern Hills Athletic Conference play.

The win for the Lions is their second consecutive win, as they improve to 9-2 overall and 6-1 in the Division II SHAC standings. Eastern now stands at 5-2 in the SHAC Division I standings and 8-3 overall.

The win saw the senior Logan McIntosh celebrate with his teammates once the shot fell as the final buzzer sounded, as he finished the contest with 15 points, collecting four two-point baskets, one 3-pointer and he was 4-of-4 from the free-throw line.
