Lions score 22 runs in win over Dragons

The Fairfield Lions continued to add wins to their overall total on Friday night, winning in Southern Hills Athletic Conference action against the West Union Dragons by a 22-3 score at WUHS.

The Lions wasted no time in the SHAC game, leading 5-1 after the first inning, then followed that up with two runs in the top of the second for a 7-1 lead. The Lions added nine runs in the top of the third, and WUHS scored two runs in the same inning.

In the top of the fourth, FHS added six final runs for the 19-run victory.

Fairfield finished with 12 hits and no errors, and the Dragons totaled six hits and committed four errors.

For FHS, Corbin Willey was 2-for-3 with two runs, three RBI, a walk, a steal and one of the hits was a triple.

Landry Hattan finished 2-for-4 with two runs and RBI. Fairfield teammate Cade Miller was 2-for-2 with three runs, two RBI and a double.

Dow Moon went 1-for-2, scoring two runs, while also having two RBI, two walks and a steal. Blaine Fauber finished 1-for-1 with one run and two RBI. Wyatt Collins finished 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI and three steals.

Zane Matthews scored a run, Gabe Fouch scored a run and had two walks. Wyatt Willey collected an RBI, while Carson Chandler was 1-for-1 with an RBI.

Elijah Humphreys went 1-for-2 while scoring a run, and Noah Allering finished 1-for-3 with three runs, one RBI and one walk.

Owen Larrick finished with two runs, one RBI and walk. Brandon Ludwick finished with two runs, one RBI and four walks.

Ludwick was the winning pitcher, where in three innings he allowed three runs (two earned) on six hits and one walk. Ludwick finished with three strikeouts as he threw 60 pitches, 38 for strikes, all while facing 16 batters.

Humphreys threw two innings on the mound, where he allowed no runs on no hits and no walks. He finished with two strikeouts, throwing 16 pitches, 12 for strikes, and he faced six batters.

The win improves the Lions to 9-2 overall this season.
