Winners announced for 28th annual senior art show

The artwork of local seniors was recently showcased at the Area Agency on Aging District 7’s (AAA7) 28th Annual Senior Citizens Art Show and Essay/Poetry Contest that was held at the Esther Allen Greer Museum and Gallery, located on the campus of the University of Rio Grande in Rio Grande, Ohio. Ohio residents age 55 or older were eligible to participate in the Art Show and Essay/ Poetry Contest. Winners announced from Highland County include:

1st Place Acrylic/Birds – “On Wings of an Eagle” by Mary Owenna Reed
1st Place Acrylic/Floral – “Blooming Iris” by Pauline Williams
1st Place Acrylic/Landscape – “Going Home” by Pauline Williams
1st Place Acrylic/Portraits – “Stroll in Garden” by Joyce Fannin
1st Place Charcoal/Portraits – “Our Rachel” by Mary Owenna Reed
4th Place Oil/Animals – “Joy” by Barbara Hodge
1st Place Oil/Floral (Professional) – “Red Tongued Orchids” by Marilyn J. Hoaglin
2nd Place Oil/Landscape – “Old Times” by Helen Horner
