Thanksgiving and Christmas are coming!

Whew! with Halloween "spirited" away, it's now time to realize that the serious holidays are just around the corner and it may be time for that annual visit to Christmas at the Cabin.

Some folks say they haven't had their holidays without at least one visit to this delightful authentic old log cabin on the Cave Road near Bainbridge. Simply stuffed from floor to rafters with beautiful holiday decorations, the cabin is also a great place to start on Christmas shopping, as they have gifts for nearly everyone on your list, and special ones, too!
Janny Brizius reports that this year's Cabin has many new artisans, which not only gives the Cabin a new look, but which will give your own homes a fresh look for the holidays... Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday table- unners and centerpieces, spectacular wreaths, many of which are not for Christmas only, as well as gifts that will get you on your way for holiday giving.
A visit to the cabin is a fun experience. One lady recently said, "I keep looking out the windows, expecting to see an Indian peering in!" (Indeed, the cabin's authenticity does make you feel as though you have been transported back in time.) Perhaps this is partly because old John Kinnison, who built the cabin nearly 75 years ago, turned 100 years old while he was building it! Yes, he built it himself, and he cut every tree in the woods himself, too! Yes, at 100! Janny says, "My mother baked him a birthday cake in a wash tub with 100 candles on it!"
If you've not been to the cabin, it is indeed a pleasant experience, and a good way to get a start on the holiday spirit. You will find it on the Cave Road, just off of US Route 50, midway between Hillsboro and Chillicothe.
