The Highland County TEA Party has expressed its appreciation to Steve Dillon for serving as a recent guest speaker.

During the February regular meeting on Monday, Dillon presented information on the Second Amendment and considerations for concealed carry permits.

"With an approximate attendance of 80 people, the mood was energized and appreciative of the event," local TEA Party President Barb Cole said.

The next regular meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. March 18.

The next meeting will focus on healthcare, including Medicaid expansion and The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.

The regular meetings are the third Monday of the month at the Hi-TEC Center (1575 N. High St., Hillsboro).
