Local voters will have a chance to hear from the candidates for Highland County commissioner at a forum sponsored by the Highland County TEA Party group.
The event will be held Monday, Jan. 30 at 7 p.m. at the Hi-TEC building in Hillsboro.
All six candidates have been invited to attend and speak to the public about questions regarding Highland County's futures, ideas or plans for development, budgetary restraints and the local economy.
This forum is being made available to the public so that voters will be better prepared to cast an informed vote in the Democratic and Republican primary elections on March 6.
There are two commissioner seats to be filled this year. Incumbents Shane Wilkin and Tom Horst are candidates again, along with Steve Cowdrey, Brenda Losey, Randy Mustard and Josh Patton.
While in 2012, there will naturally be major national attention focused on the presidential race, Highland County TEA Party urges citizens to take part in becoming more knowledgeable about elections at all levels of government.[[In-content Ad]]
