Spring is around the corner at the Greenfield library

Spring is right around the corner; though we may still have a few winter events yet.  As we are waiting and wishing for the warmer temperatures of spring, there are so many wonderful books to get the mind thinking and planning for those spring and summer projects. We have gotten in some great books for gardening, landscaping, home repair, home building plans, water features, and much more. It's a great time to stop in and check some out.

 

Check out these upcoming events: 

 

•Feb. 28, March 16, and April 11, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. -­ The Ohio Benefit Bank will be at the library to help you file your taxes. You need to call for an appointment. Household income needs to be less than $56,000. Bring your Social Security number and for all your dependents', W-2s, last year's tax return (if you have it), and any other income info. There is no charge for this service.

• Feb. 28, 6:30 p.m. ­- The Genealogy Club meets. Each month on the last Monday evening this group meets to learn more about genealogy researching. Harold Schmidt from the Greenfield Historical Society will be the presenter. Everyone is invited.

• March 8, ­5-8 p.m.,­ CPR Class. Debbie Hensley will be teaching this class. Class size is limited to eight, so please pre-register and pick up a study booklet.

• March 16 ,­ 5 p.m. -­ Bookworms, our adult book discussion group meets monthly on the third Wednesday of each month. The book chosen for this month is "Sarah's Quilt" by Nancy E. Turner. Stop in and pick up a copy and join us. Everyone is welcome.

• March 17, 24, 31, April 7 and 14 -­ Art Class - Dianna Hisey will be the instructor for these classes. This will be a combined ­ beginner and advanced class.  Dianna, Art Education Specialist, has volunteered to offer these classes free of charge to our community.  The only cost will be the few supplies that she will tell you about on the first evening.  What a great opportunity!  Please pre-register for these classes at the desk, or call the library.

• March 22 and April 19, 6-8 p.m. -­ Natalie Reeder from CET will join us

to present workshops for preschool caregivers. CEU units are available with

these classes. Besides the great information, there are always freebies-

children's books and items to help with your work with preschoolers.

• Tuesday mornings, 11 a.m. -­ Story time for 2- and 3-year-olds. Stories, crafts, music, and lots of fun.

• We have federal, state, local, and school district tax forms. Stop by

and pick up what you need. We always have great displays in our display case, and they are always appreciated by everyone. If you would like to share your hobby or collection in our case, stop in and we¹ll make arrangements.
