The Southern Ohio Genealogical Society (SOGS) will present Beginning Military Research with Dana Palmer, CG, CGL on April 13.

There is no simple explanation for how to begin to research your military ancestor. Where did they serve? What branch were they in? Did they have a pension record?

To find out how to do this, join SOGS April 13 at 6 p.m. at the North High Business Center, 1487 North High St. (Route 62), Hillsboro. Enter through the doors on the right front of the building to get to the community meeting room. Follow the signs.

This will be a virtual meeting. You can attend to view the presentation or attend virtually from home. For Zoom information, send an email to: SOGS414@gmail.com.

SOGS is also partnering with the Highland District Library for History Day on May 20. John Cooper will be here at the library again portraying Abraham Lincoln. Experienced SOGS members will be there to answer questions about our Civil War Lineage Society.
