Southern Highland JFD to hold annual spaghetti dinner

By
-
The Southern Highland Joint Fire District's annual spaghetti dinner will be held Nov. 10 from 4-9 p.m. at the Mowrystown Station.

The dinner is for donations only. Spaghetti, chili, salad, many homemade desserts and drinks will be cooked and served by the volunteers of the Southern Highland JFD.

The funds raised from this dinner helped to run the department when it was a village station. Now that the department is a fire district and have funding, the firemen and EMT volunteers have continued to hold the dinner to help give back. Thanks to the funds raised, the department has been able to certify 128 Whiteoak students in CPR/first aid by going into the school every year to train and certify the sophomore class; has assisted several local families each year for holidays; has provided blankets and coats to families whose homes have burned down; and many more small projects to educate and give back. All of these things are done thanks to all the donations made for this dinner.
