The Southern Ohio Genealogical Society will offer a free workshop, open to the public, on how to get started in genealogy and how to complete the First and Second Families of Highland County applications. The First and Second Families identify and honor the memory of the early pioneers of Highland County. The research and work necessary for discovering these pioneers and their descendants is intended to foster and encourage interest in the people who contributed in any way - great or small - to establishing the county, its customs, culture, genealogy and history.
The workshop will be held Thursday, May 12, 7 p.m., led by Jean Wallis and Mel Haines at the North High Business Center at 1487 North High (Route 62).
Applications for the First and Second Families can be downloaded from the SOGS website at www.sogs.info.[[In-content Ad]]
