Rocky Fork Community Alliance kicks off Neighborhood Watch program

The Rocky Fork Community Alliance, in conjunction with the Highland County Sheriff's Department and Paint Township trustees, held its Neighborhood Watch kickoff meeting on Feb. 7. Approximately 50 people were in attendance, representing all the subdivisions in the lake area. The Neighborhood Watch program was explained by Detective Richard Warner, with a question-and-answer period following.

Neighborhood Watch window stickers are available for a $2 donation from any Rocky Fork Community Alliance board member. Randy Mustard, Paint Township trustee, explained the mapped proposal of signs to be erected with the opportunity for additional signage.

Dan Cowdrey, president of the Rocky Fork Community Alliance, explained the goals of the Alliance and growth of business around the lake, which the Alliance has been involved in and supported.

The upcoming annual spring clean-up was discussed by Mustard. The event will take place each Saturday in April. The cleanup is a collective effort involving the Highland County Corrections office, Highland County Office of Litter Prevention and Rocky Fork Community Alliance and is organized and spearheaded by Mustard. Anyone wishing to volunteer for any Saturday during the month of April may call Mustard at (937) 402-0076.

The next Rocky Fork Community Alliance meeting will be held Feb. 28 at 7 p.m. at the Rocky Fork Activity Center, located just past the North Beach launch ramp. Everyone is welcome to attend and become involved[[In-content Ad]]
