Premier Showmen celebrates 4-H Week; holds Easter egg hunt

Premier Showmen 4-H Club
The Premier Showmen 4-H Club celebrates 100 years of Highland County 4-H with two yard displays and one window display.

• The Premier Showmen 4-H Club held their fourth meeting of the year on Sunday, March 12 at the 4-H food booth. The meeting was called to order by the President, Sydney Sanders.
At the beginning of the meeting, members participated in a leadership game where they were split into four groups and raced to see who see who could bring an item of the President’s choice to her first. For example, the president might say, “Bring me a wristwatch,” then the members would race to see who could bring her a watch first. When the game was over the members shared accomplishments including participation at livestock judging contests.
Next, members participated in the annual club Easter egg hunt.
During club office reports, Mason Warnock (community service officer) brought forth a motion to give a donation to the Highland County Society for Children and Adults. The motion passed. Several members will present the donation on March 29. Club member Addie Johnson is the poster child for the 2023 Highland County Society for Children and Adults telethon.
During new business, the club voted on club dues. Then dates were shared for 4-H and Highland County Fair events. For the Cloverbud activity, the Cloverbuds learned about rabbits
The Premier Showmen 4-H club will meet again on April 16 at 6 p.m.
