The New Petersburg Social Civic Club celebrated its 91st anniversary at the Rainsboro United Methodist Church. The men of the church catered a delicious baked steak dinner.
Following the meal, President Debbie Robinson called the meeting to order. Wanda Greene read the minutes from the August meeting. They were approved as read. Vickie Duff had the treasurer's report.
The Highland County Historical Society again invited us to decorate a room for Christmas. The theme this year will be "A Christmas To Remember." Members are to have ideas for decorating by the next meeting.
A collection was taken for the food pantry at the church. Thanks to members for their generosity.
Election of officers for next year was held. New officers are Janet Campbell, president; Verla Hodson, vice-president; Cora Hamilton, secretary; Margaret Crabtree, assistant secretary, Bea Mustard, treasurer; Debbie Ellison, assistant treasurer; Margaret Crabtree, reporter; Patty Detty, flower committee, Greenfield; Wanda Greene, flower committee, Hillsboro.
In addition to those already listed, members present were Mary Ann Larkin, Anna Lou Lucas, Janet Lawwell, Phyllis Miller, Malinda Wells, and Glenna Ross.
The October  meeting will be held at the Rainsboro United Methodist Church with Wanda Greene serving as hostess. This will be our Talent Auction. Members are to bring a talent or a white elephant to be auctioned.
