An elderly, blind dog in Greenfield has three McClain High School students to thank for possibly saving its life this week.

According to their friend, Ady Calhoun, Matthew Lucas and Ashton Tone were at Felson Park and saw a dog struggling in the creek. They noticed that it appeared the dog fell from a platform near the train trestle.

After getting the dog out of the water, the two young men met up with Calhoun, and the three students took the dog to the police station.

Calhoun posted a "found" message on Facebook, then the three walked around town with the dog for over an hour, giving the owner, Amber Harris, the chance to contact them and retrieve her pet.

"I’m very grateful for those kids," Harris said. "It melted my heart that there’s still genuine, sweet kids in this present day."
