Lynchburg Lions Club honored at convention

The Lynchburg Lions Club was honored at the District Lions Convention that was held recently at Southern State Community College in Hillsboro. The club received the second place award in the governor’s competition for Lions Clubs in Division I of Lions District 13-J.

Lynchburg Lions Club members who represented the club at the Convention included Lion Joyce Stroop, Lion Jim Stroop, Lion Janet Florence, and Lion Jim Faust. Lion Jim Faust serves District 13-J as the State Trustee for the Ohio Lions Foundation, and he also serves as district parliamentarian.
Lion Jim Stroop, a member of the Lynchburg Lions Club, has been named “Lion of the Year” for Zone Three in Lions District 13-J. Lion Stroop was honored at the District Lions Convention held at Southern State Community College in Hillsboro.
Mr. Stroop has been very active in the Lions organization for many years, and he is currently serving as president of the Lynchburg Lions Club.
He is an active member of the Pricetown Church of Christ, and he has served in several positions of leadership in the I.O.O.F. organization. He has also been actively involved in the goat industry for many years and he has served at the county fair and other goat shows.
