The Lynchburg Lions Club sponsors its annual Peace Poster contest each fall. The club encourages middle school students to develop a special poster on a theme related to promoting world peace.

Three winners are selected, and they are given awards and cash prizes. All who enter the contest are also given special prizes and certificates.

The top three winners and their families are also invited to a special dinner at the Lions Club building to honor them.

The top three winners this year in order were Allie Stroop, Kaylee Shrader and Alyssa Woodall.

Stroop's award-winning poster was submitted to the district finals for competition at that level. The club is pleased to announce that Allie won the first-place award at the district level, and her poster will now compete at the state finals.

There are 45 Lions Clubs in District 13-J, and the Lynchburg Club is proud to have sponsored the winning poster.

Congratulations to Allie, Kaylee and Alyssa.

All are students at the Lynchburg-Clay Middle School. Mr. Greg Naylor is their art teacher.

Each girl received cash prizes, certificates and other special awards sponsored by the Lynchburg Lions Club. Stroop will be recognized again later after the state competition. She and her family will also be recognized at the District Lions Convention this spring at Rio Grande University.
