Local Girl Scout leader Ida Miller, a Blanchester Girl Scout Leader of Troop #45988, has hurdled through five rounds since August to reach the quarterfinals in a national park adventure contest, seeking to win the 2024 Ultimate Explorer Competition for her troop.

Miller entered the online contest in hopes to win and take her Girl Scouts on their dream senior trip to the Grand Canyon and Route 66. The winner of the contest will receive $10,000, explore national parks in an expedition-ready Winnebago RV and appear in Outside Magazine.

Miller’s troop has been working hard trying to raise the funds to make this dream of a senior trip a reality by selling cookies, working craft shows, selling hot dogs at Lebanon’s annual Iron’s Apple Fest, bake sales and much more to earn funds.

Miller would love community folks to cast a free daily vote at https://ultexplorer.org/2024/ida-miller-u9JK to help these girl make a once-in-a-lifetime memory to the Grand Canyon.

Daily voting is free. Votes will be reset, and the semi-finals will begin Oct. 4; finals, Oct. 11; and end Oct. 17. Public voting will determine which finalist will be the Grand Prize Winner of the 2024 Ultimate Explorer Competition.

The Grand Prize Winner will be announced on or before Oct. 25.

Seven areas of the Great Smoky Mountains have been affected by Hurricane Helene, and any donated votes Thursday, Oct. 2 are doubled and help the National Parks and Miller for the contest.
