The Lynchburg and Mowrystown Lions Clubs held a joint meeting on Oct. 12 at the Pricetown Church of Christ Fellowship Hall. The purpose of the meeting was to hear presentations from the Sellers Family children as well as reports from the District Lions Cabinet officers.

The Ohio Lions Foundation had sponsored two of the Sellers girls to a summer camp for blind students. The girls gave a report of their experience and shared the value of attending the camp. In addition, three of their sisters joined them at the meeting where they shared songs, poetry, and personal experiences to the delight of the audience. Four of the girls are either blind or visibly impaired and the Lions were happy to sponsor them and hear their presentations. They are the daughters of Mark and Monica Sellers of the Sugar Tree Ridge area.

Following the girls’ presentations, District Governor Lion Ben Dunn, First Vice District Governor Lion Tony Winner, and Second Vice District Governor Lion David Bond addressed the group and gave various updates about Lions events and projects.

Past Council Chair Lydia Houser then addressed the group and discussed many Lions activities and her campaign for Lions International Director.

In addition, District Governor Ben Dunn installed Samantha Hite as a new member of the Mowrystown Club.

Following these presentations and a time of refreshments, both clubs held business sessions where they made plans for several upcoming activities. Anyone interested in becoming a Lion should contact any member of either club.
