The hustle and bustle of the holidays is upon us. We hope you will take some time to stop by the Leesburg Library and pick up a good book to relax with during this busy time!
Our Knit Together group will meet on Thursday, Dec. 1, 8, and 15 from 5:30-7 p.m. Bring your current project and join us for some conversation and knitting.
The Leesburg Library Merry Money Store will be open from 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3. Please bring your child and their Merry Money during your pre-assigned shopping time to purchase gifts. The elves will be here to assist your children with their Christmas shopping while parents can enjoy browsing the library and munching on some holiday refreshments.
Dawna Jo Kiesling from the Highland County Extension Office will be here from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on Dec. 3 to share tips on holiday cooking and she will visit us again on Thursday, December 15 from 10 a.m.-noon.
SPARX (Teen Book Group) will meet on Monday, Dec. 5 at 5 p.m. for their Christmas gathering. They will be discussing Die for Me by Amy Plum. Participants are asked to bring an appetizer/snack to share and a goodie bag worth about $5 to use in a gift exchange. We hope you will join us for some holiday fun!
The Leesburg Library will be hosting the presentation of the King and Queen during the Leesburg Luminaria festivities on Sunday, Dec. 11. The presentation begins at 5:45 PM with open house receptions following at the library and area businesses until 7 p.m. A community church service will be held at the Walnut Hill Church of Christ in C.U. on Barger Rd. at 7:30 p.m. Please stop in for some refreshments and fellowship!
RRR will meet on Thursday, Dec. 15 at 1:30 p.m.
Our evening story time meets on Monday, Dec. 19 at 6 p.m. If you can’t attend our Thursday morning story times, please bring your 3- 5-year-old to
the library for an evening of songs, stories and fun.
Story Times continue on Thursdays. This month’s themes include "Jingle Bells," "O Christmas Tree" and "Candy Cane Day."
There will be no story times on Dec. 22, 29 and Jan. 5. Story times will resume on Thursday, Jan. 12. Wee Ones (6-36 months) meet at 10 a.m.; Tater
Tots (3-5 yrs) meet at 10:30 a.m.
The Library will be closed on Dec. 24-26 and Dec. 31, Jan. 1-2 in observance of the Christmas and New Year holidays.
Please use our outdoor book drop when returning items on days we are closed. We at the Leesburg Library would like to take this opportunity to wish all our patrons a Blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year! Come and visit us soon.
