Kelsey Sheeley of Hillsboro exhibited her Polled Dorset ewe, Whitney, at the 2010 Ohio State Fair. Whitney is a Sept. 2009 ewe lamb and placed first in the fall ewe lamb class.
* The Grand Champion Gelbvieh Female of the 2010 Ohio State Fair was exhibited by Kelsey Sheeley of Hillsboro. Her heifer, "Ohio MV Polled Julianne," is a Nov. 1, 2008 daughter of POW Jetstream and represents the seventh generation of purebred Gelbvieh in the family herd.
"Julianne" was named champion of both the junior and open Gelbvieh shows. Kelsey also won Sr. Showmanship with Julianne.
* Sheeley also exhibited her bred and owned percentage Simmental heifer at the 2010 Ohio State Fair. "MV Polled Starlet" is a Nov. 25, 2009 daughter of BFCK Cherokee Canyon and placed first in both the junior and open shows and was named reserve champion of the junior show.
"Starlet" was previously named Grand Champion Bred and Owned Percentage Simmental heifer at the 2010 Eastern Regional Junior Simmental Show in Meadeville, Penn. and the Res. Grand Champion Bred and Owned Percentage Simmental Female at the American Junior Simmental National Classic is Des Moines, Iowa. "Starlet" traces back eight generations in the family cow herd.
Kelsey is the daughter of Tim and Karen Sheeley and is a member of the Marshall Stockmen 4-H Club, and the Hillsboro FFA.
