Katie Schmidt Brown celebrates 100th birthday

Katie Schmidt Brown, former longtime resident of Hillsboro, recently celebrated her 100th birthday at Hometown Manor in Georgetown, Ky. where she currently resides.

Katie was born on Feb. 3, 1913, in Ross County. She was married to the late William H. Brown of Hillsboro. Their two children, Gary Brown of Georgetown, Ky., and Lynda Brown Goodwin of Avon, Conn., were both born in Hillsboro.

Relatives from Ohio attended her celebration as well as Hillsboro residents, Dave and Nancy Wyckoff and John, Alice and Jay Blair.

In addition to Katie’s son and daughter, she has four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
