Hillsboro Middle School student to appear on RFD-TV

Katelyn Adams, 12, of Hillsboro, has been asked by Nashville producer Steve Hall of "The Shotgun Red Variety Show," which airs on RFD-TV, to be a part of his Feb. 10 taping aboard the General Jackson Showboat.
Hall, who originally spotted Adams' talent in Nashville in 2009 at the Night Life Theater, asked Adams to be a part of the first season of the show, which was taped live in Branson, Mo. at the RFD-TV Theater. Since then, Hall has had several requests from across the country, wanting the little girl with the big voice back on his show.
"This is quite an honor to have a little girl from Ohio on such a big venue as the General Jackson showboat," Hall said. "It is the second-largest attraction and venue, next to the Grand Ole Opry, in Nashville."
Adams is a student at Hillsboro Middle School. She is a well-seasoned gospel singer already, having opened up for such major acts in the contemporary Christian field as Matthew West, TaRanda Greene and most recently world-renowned piano and session musician Gordon Mote, who is famous for being with the Gaithers. Adams' home church is the Carpenters House of Prayer on Fairground Road in Hillsboro.
