The Hillsboro Junior Women's Club awarded two scholarships for the upcoming 2012-13 school year.

Carrie Juillerat and Jordan Elmore, both 2012 graduates of Hillsboro High School, were this year's recipients.

Scholarship applicants must be female, have a Hillsboro address and be enrolled in a college in the fall. Also, applicants must display a strong background in community service, in addition to academic achievement and leadership qualities.

The Hillsboro Junior Women's Club is a non-profit civic organization that serves throughout the Hillsboro community through monetary donations and volunteering.

The club members' lone fundraiser is to sell lemon shakes during the Festival of the Bells. The scholarship recipients also volunteer with the ladies in the lemon shake booth during the festival.
