On Sunday, July 29, the congregation of Hillsboro First United Methodist Church will celebrate the “Fifth Sunday” of the month with a combined, all-congregation service at the Chapel in the Woods at Rocky Fork State Park.
The three summer services will come together as one congregation at 10:30 a.m. at the Chapel located inside the campground at Rocky Fork. The service will be a blend of our traditional and contemporary services and will feature a free cookout on the chapel grounds following the service. Community members and campers are encouraged and welcomed!
Transportation will be available from the church parking lot starting at 9:45am for those without a ride and a shuttle will be provided from the Boat Dock Parking Lot at Rocky Fork starting at 10 a.m. Parking is available at the airport where you can walk to the chapel on a path through the woods and at the Boat Dock Parking Lot.
Extra lawn chairs will be available but we suggest you bring a lawn chair and possibly an umbrella. In case of inclement weather the service and the cookout will be held at the church located at 133 E. Walnut St.
We welcome everyone who is looking for a unique worship experience. Hillsboro First UMC is open to the community and we want you to stop by and see what we are all about. Our mission at Hillsboro First is “Learning to live like Jesus” and we want to invite you and your family to check us out.
