Highland SWCD celebrates Earth Day
The Highland Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) celebrated the 40th anniversary of Earth Day on Sunday, April 18 with members of the Marshall United Methodist Church.
The celebration began with the 4-H program being highlighted during the church services followed by a fellowship dinner at the Marshall School. Highland SWCD Employees, Pam Bushelman and Chuck Williams handed out tree seedlings to everyone in attendance in honor of Earth Day. By planting native trees you are improving our air quality, protecting our water, saving energy and providing habitat to animals.
Highland SWCD encourages people worldwide to take advantage of celebrating the 40th anniversary of Earth Day this year by focusing on improving our environment and challenges everyone to make Earth Day Everyday!
