Highland County Quilters hold National Quilt Week luncheon

The Highland County Quilters National Quilt Week luncheon was held at Hillsboro First United Methodist Church. Activities at the event included a carry in dish for the luncheon, a display of quilts, tote bags, wall hangings and other projects made by the ladies in attendance, and quilt bingo. 
This event began in 1991 when three Highland County quilt clubs met to celebrate quilting, and the event has been held each year since 1991 with either a luncheon or an organized quilt show.  
The three Highland County quilt clubs who participated in this event are the Highland County Quilt Club started in 1984, the Greenfield Quilt Club organized in 1985, and the Country Quilters which also began in 1985. The purpose of all three clubs
is to promote the art, craft and legacy of quiltmaking.
The Country Quilters hosted the 2010 luncheon and would like to thank all those who brought gifts for door prizes. They would also like to thank all of the local business who donated gifts and gift cards.
