HCFFA, Highland District Hospital hosting Public Safety Awareness Day Oct. 27

The Highland County Firefighters Association will host Public Safety Awareness Day Sunday, Oct. 27 from noon-2:30 p.m. at Highland District Hospital, 1275 North High St., Hillsboro.

Stop by and meet your local emergency and safety workers. State and local agencies attending will include area fire and rescue units, local police departments, Highland County Children Services, Highland County Emergency Management, Highland County Health Department, Highland County Peace Officers Association, Highland County Probation Department, Highland County Prosecutor’s Office, Highland County Sheriff’s Office, Highland District Hospital, Highland Health Providers, Hillsboro City Schools, Hillsboro Public Works, MedFlight, Ohio Department of Transportation and REACH For Tomorrow.

Activities will include:

• Emergency response vehicle tours;

• Auto extrication demonstration;

• Fire safety education inflatable;

• Visits with K-9 Deputy Dom;

• Child fingerprinting;

• Safe trick or treat for kids (wear your costume);

• Pokey’s DJ and Karaoke Service;

• Food and drinks;

• And much more.

The event is free and open to the public.
