Greenfield Library Link
By
Margaret Magee-
The Greenfield Library is really looking like fall. We have scarecrows, pumpkins, apples, leaves & even a straw bale. Fall is a wonderful time of the year, and colors are beautiful. The worst part of fall is knowing that the cold weather is slowly inching its way to southern Ohio. Well, as any librarian will tell you, it's a GREAT time to read. Stop in and be prepared for the fall season!
Check out these upcoming events:
• OCTOBER 1 Begins our Christmas Reading Club. Children, age 3 - grade 6, may sign up. When they sign up, they will receive a book bag, and a restaurant coupon. They then check out and read books. For each 5 books read, they will receive $1 in Merry Money. They will be able to read and count the books till Dec. 1. On Saturday, Dec. 4, from 10 - 2 p.m., we will have our Library Christmas Shop. They will then be able to spend their money to purchase gifts for all those on their shopping list. It's lots of fun and the children get practice on their reading & math skills, and earn the gifts they give. Stop in & sign up.
• OCTOBER 11 LIBRARY WILL BE CLOSED FOR COLUMBUS DAY.
• OCTOBER 16 from 10 - 3 and OCTOBER 21 from 2-7 - the library in conjunction with the Greenfield Historical Society will be asking community members to bring in their family Bibles and have the genealogy information copied for the use of others who are searching for genealogy information.
And another help with genealogy research is McClain yearbooks - The library is in need of many years. If you have yearbooks, that no one in your family will want, consider donating them to the library and help many people.
