Applications for the inaugural Festival of the Bells Queen Contest are available now.

Some of the benefits of participating in the Queen Contest are that it can be used on college applications/résumés; builds confidence, public speaking skills and interview experience; and gives contestants an opportunity to make lifelong friendships.

Entries will be accepted until June 17. The contest is open to any single girl of high school age, including those entering ninth grade for the 2024-25 school year through graduates of the class of 2024, from Highland, Adams, Brown, Clinton, Fayette, Pike and Ross counties.

One-on-one interviews with applicants will be held June 22 at the Scott House. Contestants will then participate in the contest July 4 during the festival.

All contestants must have a sponsor who is required to pay a $25 entry fee. Contestants are required to wear an appropriate, formal, full-length dress for the contest.

If selected, the queen and members of the queen’s court will be required to attend each day of the three-day festival wearing their sashes/crown. The court must participate in the Festival of the Bells parade July 7 and will be required to wear an appropriate, formal, full-length dress and have transportation with a poster board/sign.

Other responsibilities include representing the Festival at other area parades or activities.
