Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home and the American Breast Cancer Foundation have teamed up to encourage breast cancer awareness during October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
"Nearly 200,000 American women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in 2012 alone, but through the important education and outreach of the American Breast Cancer Foundation and other organizations, more than 1.6 million women can say they have survived," Craig Edgington said.
Through the Sentiments program, Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home, in conjunction with Aurora Casket Company, will make a monetary contribution to the American Breast Cancer Foundation.
"We are proud to help families honor and pay tribute to their loved one in a meaningful and possibly life-saving way," Edgington said. "Breast cancer has touched so many lives in some manner."
The American Breast Cancer Foundation provides financial assistance to uninsured and underinsured women and men off all ages for breast cancer diagnostic tests, including annual screenings and mammograms.
