at the Highland County
Historical Society
• On March 17 at 7:30 p.m., the Highland County Historical Society's
Heritage Music Series will feature Celtic music for St. Patrick's Day.
Social hour will start at 7:30 with appetizers and punch with music program
to follow. Call the museum at 393-3392 to reserve tickets. Tickets are
$12.50 per person.
• The Highland County Historical Society's annual St. Patrick's Day brunch
will be held at Highland House Museum on March 18 from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Delicious homemade food will be served. Call for reservations. There is a
suggested donation of $8.50 per person.
• On April 7 at 7 p.m., Bob Patton will give a presentation on the history
of Marshall Township and the recently razed school. Appetizers and drinks
will be served, and there will be an unveiling of the Marshall basketball
championship exhibit and an excavated time capsule.
• On April 21 at 7:30 p.m., the Highland County Historical Society will hold
their monthly Heritage Music Series concert and social hour. Call for

• On May 4, the Highland County Historical Society will host a Member
Appreciation Potluck at the Highland House museum, starting at 6 p.m.

Boaters safety course
March 31 at Lake Waynoka
The Waynoka WaterSports Club will be sponsoring an Ohio Boating
Education Course at 8 a.m. Saturday, March 31 at the Lake Waynoka Lodge.
Cost of this course is $5 payable to ODNR Watercraft. Pre-register for the

Group meetings
The Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Cincinnati will sponsor a
Highland County Alzheimer’s/Dementia Family Caregiver Support Group on the
third Monday of each month from 5-6:30 p.m. at Highland District Hospital.

There will be no Colony Theater Christian show this month. March and
April shows are still scheduled. In March, Prisoners of Hope will be the

AARP tax aide
provides free assistance
at Senior Center
Free tax help and preparation service, run by volunteers, will be
available at the Highland County Senior Center every Monday and Tuesday
during the month of March from 9:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. To make an appointment,

Eagles host Thursday bingo
The Hillsboro Eagles host bingo on Thursday nights. Doors open at 5:30
p.m., and games start at 7 p.m.
Diabetes information
at Lynchburg Library
Have you been diagnosed with pre-diabetes? Has your doctor told you have
“borderline diabetes?” Do you just want information about how to prevent
diabetes? On March 19, Laura Knisley, a certified diabetes nurse educator,
will present a crash course for preventing diabetes at the Lynchburg Library

Texas Hold'em March 10
St. Mary Catholic School is having a St. Patrick's themed Texas Hold'em
Tournament on March 10. Doors will open at 4 p.m. and the tournament will

The Rocky Fork Lake/Rainsboro area has a new meeting of AA at Rainsboro
United Methodist Church, Saturdays from 10-11 a.m. From Hillsboro, take U.S.
50 east for 10 miles, past the truck stop to Rainsboro and turn left on
Route 753 north. It's the first building on left – United Methodist Church.
Revival March 18-20
Pastor Dan Hess and the Hillsboro Church of God invite the public to
attend a revival at their church, located at 5760 U.S. 62 south, Hillsboro,
March 18-20. Pastor Tim Oldfield of the Potter's House in Columbus, who has
a worldwide TV program on the Angel One Network, will be the featured
evangelist. Service times will be 6 p.m. Sunday and 7 p.m. Monday and
Tuesday.

meetings on the last Wednesday of each month. The meetings will take place

The Hillsboro Christian Academy will host a fish fry on Sunday, March 11

holds soup supper March 17
The Prospect United Methodist Church, located at the corner of state Route
73 and Prospect Road, will hold its annual soup supper on Saturday, March 17
from 4:30-7 p.m. The menu will include vegetable soup, potato soup, broccoli
soup, chili, sloppy joes, hot dogs, coneys, sides, homemade pies and
cookies, a vegetable tray and drinks. Everyone is welcome to attend. A
freewill donation will be accepted.

hosts area women's fellowship
All local women are welcome to attend the Danville Church of Christ Area
Women's Fellowship on March 20 at 7 p.m. Registration will begin at 6:45
p.m. Harriet Jackson Groh will be the guest speaker. The theme for the
evening will be "How About That, Sisters: HATS Off to God." All ladies in
attendance are encouraged to wear their favorite hat. A salad buffet will be

OVRDC to hold

election of officers
Ohio Valley Regional Development Commission’s (OVRDC) annual Full
Commission Meeting and Election of Officers will be held on Thursday, March
29 in Brown County at the Southern Hills Career & Technical Center, 9193
Hamer Road, Georgetown. Registration and social time will be held at 5:30
p.m. with the meeting beginning at 6 p.m.
OVRDC Full Commission members have received registration information and
anyone planning to attend must RSVP by Friday, March 23.
The banquet and meeting are open for others interested in attending. If you
