The Highland County Board of Commissioners on Wednesday proclaimed November as Home Health Month in recognition of Highland District Hospital and Highland District Hospital Home Health.

By demonstrating compliance with the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organization’s national standards for health care quality and safety, Highland District Hospital and Highland District Hospital Home Health have earned the Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval.

The award of accreditation is for a three-year period ending spring 2015.

“We sought accreditation for our organization because we want to demonstrate our commitment to patient safety and quality care,” says Jim Baer, President and CEO. “We view obtaining Joint Commission accreditation as another step toward achieving excellence.”
