Bishop Breidenthal to be at St. Mary's Episcopal Sunday church service on Feb. 24

The Right Reverend Bishop Thomas Breidenthal is scheduled to be at the St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 234 North High Street in Hillsboro, at 10 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 24.
The Bishop of the Diocese of Southern Ohio visits Hillsboro only once every one or two years and it is always a special event. Typically, the Bishop officiates the service.
The Rt. Reverend Thomas E. Breidenthal, IX Bishop of Southern Ohio, brings a passion for civic involvement, strong lay leadership and ministry and Biblical preaching. A noted author, he has written about the issues of same-sex unions, what constitutes a Christian household and how to raise ethical children.
His books include "Sacred Unions," "A New Guide to Life-Long Commitment," and "Christian Households, The Sanctification of Nearness."
Prior to his election as Bishop of Southern Ohio in 2006, Bishop Breidenthal served as the dean of Religious Life and of the Chapel at Princeton University. Ordained to the priesthood in 1982, Bishop Breidenthal brings a strong intellectual and academic background to the diocese.
Before moving to Princeton, he served for nearly a decade as the John Henry Hobart Professor of Christian Ethics and Moral Theology at General Theological Seminary in New York City. He was a senior chaplain at Harvard School in California and an Episcopal Church Foundation Fellow in Oxford, England. He also has served in two parishes in Oregon and assisted at a congregation in New York City.
The Reverend Judi Wiley invites everyone to share and be part of this and all of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church services, Sundays at 10 a.m. and Wednesdays at noon, celebrated in the Anglican tradition.
