The Workforce & Business Development Program (W&B) of Community Action Committee of Pike County (CAC) will be hosting their annual business summit event in-person this year Wednesday, May 24 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at Twin Lakes Resort (273 Tackett Lane in Piketon).

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. with a complimentary continental breakfast. The focus of this year’s summit is The Treasure in Marketing, which will provide impactful insight for businesses on all levels and industries.

This year’s Business Summit Event is a partnership between the Workforce & Business Development Program and the OSU South Centers Small Business Development Center (SBDC) teams to bring the marketing knowledge relevant to the challenges that all sized businesses are currently facing in today’s climate.

There will be four main topics presented during this event:

• Collaborating to Improve Marketing – This presentation will highlight how all businesses can easily work together to increase the impact of marketing efforts.

• Legal Issues for Small Business Marketing – An informative presentation sharing vital legal parameters about copyrights, trademarks, zoning and more.

• Low-Budget and Cost-Effective Marketing – This presentation will provide various methods and techniques for any business that is advertising on a limited budget.

• Recruitment Marketing – This presentation will provide current trends and successful marketing tactics highlighting recruiting and job postings.

“This year’s Business Summit is going to be an exciting opportunity that will share the cumulated knowledge and experience of both agencies’ staff and guest speakers,” stated Lisa Pfeifer, Workforce & Business Development Program Director. “Marketing has such a profound impact on a business’s success and growth, and our team has prepared an extremely informative and interactive event for everyone who attends.”

There is a $15 fee per person to attend this event, and catered lunch will also be provided to attendees. Registration is required. You can register online at workforcebusinessdevelopment.org or call Adam Days at (740) 289-2371.
