LaRose urges Ohio voters to be informed on Issue 3

Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose announced this week that the full text, official ballot language, certified explanation, and arguments for and against State Issue 3 are now available for public review at OhioSoS.gov.
State Issue 3, a proposed constitutional amendment that would require voters to present photo identification when voting, will appear on the November 3, 2026 General Election ballot for all Ohio voters.
“Transparency matters, and Ohio voters deserve to have all of the facts before deciding whether a photo ID requirement for voting should be included in the Ohio Constitution,” said Secretary LaRose.
“I encourage every Ohioan to take the time to research Issue 3 and make an informed decision for themselves. Our elections are strongest when voters are engaged, informed, and prepared to make their voices heard on the issues that matter most to our state.”
This week, the Ohio Controlling Board also approved funding for the publication of the ballot language and arguments for and against the amendment, as required by the Ohio Constitution. The materials will be published in newspapers throughout the state during the three weeks preceding the election.

the hadicapped and the elderly
anyone who is handicapped or on elderly, should already have an ID, you need it to get any kind of services offered by the county or state. You need an ID for everything now a days. Issue 3 is about moving voter ID from the Ohio Revised Code to the state constitution. The ohio Revised Code can be changed, the constitution is much harder to change.

I feel all folks should have their ID and birth certificate, mother's certificate, or passport to prove they are born here or are American citizens to vote in order to certify legal elections and all states should have the same rules.

What???
I have picture 5 ID's in my billfold right now. Two State ID's, a VA ID, a State Dept ID, and an ID from the County that states that I can practice my 2nd Amendment rights that were already ordained by God since the Beginning... I voted every time I could since I was 17, and I had an ID every time. And there was a time I had an open-carry sidearm on me when I voted. All perfectly legal, ethical, and legitimate. No fraud, no shenanigans, and no left-wing corruption.

This again, isn’t a simple request for a photo ID. It is to change our state constitution. There is zero reason to amend the constitution, since it is already law. And remember, Ohio, we have had no issue with election fraud… it only became an issue when false information was spread.

Let's be logical. Nobody actually looks like their photo. There were no photo IDs when the US Constitution was ratified yet the vote was counted for ratification. Human beings make identification mistakes in murder trials. Software to date has a record of making racist misidentifications. A photo ID is not foolproof. Make-up and hair and whiskers can change a person's appearance in a minute. The photo ID doesn't do a darn thing to make elections more "secure." If you put 250 voters in a room and took away their ID card, you would not be able to match everyone with their ID just by looking at the photo. And finally, there is no photo on a birth certificate-- why is a birth certificate proof of identity-- we all accept that it is, so a photo is ridiculous red tape empowering the deep state to deny you your constitutional right to vote.

What is being done to ensure that the handicapped, elderly, etc… that cannot get to facilities to get an ID can? Especially if needed for mail-in ballots.
