The gradual disappearance of independent physician practices is not in patients' interests. Policymakers must ensure that our healthcare system does not discriminate against independent practices – and unwittingly put them out of business.

Watching the constant harassment of Taiwan by an increasingly assertive and provocative China, as well as increased media attention on the China-Taiwan dynamic, one may be concerned that an invasion of Taiwan is imminent – perhaps later this year. All that being said, China is probably not going to invade Taiwan in the summer of 2024.

Remember, if all you know is what you read in the newspapers or saw on cable news, you are being played for a fool. Get the facts for yourself, and then make up your own mind.

The danger of these crosswalks has been clear for some time now. Not only have pedestrians been hit and injured, there has even been a fatality. In 2020, a man was struck inside of the crosswalk on N. High St. and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Highland County Coroner’s Office. If a loss of life isn’t enough evidence to fix this issue, what is?

Many senators said out loud that House members’ immediately leaving town after their vote for the two-week Easter vacation left them no choice but to pass what was in front of them with no amendments, such as Budd’s Laken Riley Act. Any amendments needing return to the House would have started the shutdown.
