An independent third candidate approach will require an ironclad moderate/centrist platform that tracks what both parties’ voters consistently say they want – lower deficits and inflation, border security combined with a welcome mat for lawful immigrants, progress vs. climate change while maintaining energy security, lower violent crime and a solvent Social Security system.

House Republicans passed a common-sense, bipartisan resolution,  H.Res. 461, to condemn these reckless measures at the federal level. We also passed H.R. 3564 – The Middle Class Borrower Protection Act of 2023. This bipartisan bill eliminates new Biden administration taxes on creditworthy homebuyers, that are used to subsidize those with risky loans.

Last week, the attempted rescue of four playboys and a youth in a private sub off the wreckage of the Titanic pushed most other things – even Donald Trump – out of the headlines. We sucked in information with great interest; the news pundits and their experts weighed in. I may have missed it, but I didn’t hear anyone questioning the expense of the rescue nor ask who is paying the bill.  

Since 2006, the IRS has doled out more than $35 million of your tax dollars for firearms, ammunition, and tactical gear, including $10 million in weaponry and equipment since 2020 alone. You’d think this federal agency was preparing for battle!

We need the Women’s Bill of Rights to unblur the line between the sexes and to set out plainly the necessary definitions to ensure privacy, safety, and equal opportunity, both on and off the field, for women.

Hope you don’t have any exciting weekend plans. By the time you read this, humanity has already been wiped out. Hasn’t it? On June 21, 2018, Greta Thunberg tweeted that “climate change will wipe out all of humanity unless we stop using fossil fuels over the next five years.”

The Constitution clearly articulates that Congress holds lawmaking power. However, President Biden and his administration have circumvented Congress over and over again. In fact, President Biden finalized regulations adding more than $200 billion in new regulatory costs in his first year as president, which was more than quadruple the costs added during President Barack Obama’s first year.

Most notably, President Biden announced an executive order to mandate vaccination for Medicare and Medicaid providers; Federal Contractors; Employers with 100 or more employees; and Federal employees, among others. These mandates were unscientific, did not consider previous infection, and were most of all unconstitutional. The President never had the authority to issue such a directive.

Donald Trump may get what he deserves, but America cannot endure as a great nation if the rule of law does not apply to all. To all. Fairness to all. Justice to all. That is the hallmark of our great democracy, which is built on the people’s trust in our institutions. That trust is eroding as our leaders brazenly weaponize our legal system. Benjamin Franklin warned that our founders had given us “A republic, if you can keep it.” We are losing it day by day.
