William Legge, 82, of Hillsboro, died March 19, 2010 at the Hospice of Hope Ohio Valley Inpatient Center in Seaman.
He was born Feb. 10, 1928 in Maysville, Ky., the son of Clarence Albert and Lola Mae (Tolle) Legge.
Mr. Legge was a shoe cutter at the U.S. Shoe factory in Greenfield until his
retirement. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force and was a member of
VFW Post 4736 and a past president of Fraternal Order of Eagles #1325 in
Greenfield.
He is survived by four daughters, Bonnie Jean (John) McMurry of Greenfield,
Betty F. (Jim) Schraw of Hillsboro, Deborah Ann (Jeff) Erkenbrecher of
Greenfield, and Jacqueline Sue (Rusty) Clark of Troy; one son, William
Patrick (Kim) Legge of Indianapolis, Ind.; grandchildren, Eric, Tia and Kyle
Legge, Shawn (Mary Ellen) McMurry and Chad (Sasha) McMurry, Brandon Schraw,
Paula (Keith) Gast, Tiffany (Todd) Zirkles, Lee Ann Gilbert, Chaffin
Erkenbrecher, Tate Erkenbrecher, Levi (Samantha) Rhoades, Chase Clark and
Kayla Clark; and several great-grandchildren.
Mr. Legge was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Stanton Legge, on June
4, 2008; one infant daughter, Terri Lynn Legge; two sisters, Thelma Berry
and Juanita Polley; seven brothers, Clarence Albert, Joseph, Lawrence, Tom,
Raymond, Bobby (his twin brother) and Larry Legge; and his parents.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family at the
Murray-Fettro Funeral Home of Greenfield with Pastor Mike Free officiating
and burial in the Greenfield Cemetery, where military rites will be provided
by the Concerned Veterans of Greenfield. A veteran's appreciation service
and Eagles memorial service will be conducted at the funeral home.
No visiting hours will be observed.
