Wayne Nichols, 81, of Peebles, passed away Saturday, April 17, 2010 at his residence.
He was born in Portsmouth, Ohio on March 17, 1929, the son of the late Forest and Doris (Gustin) Nichols.
Wayne was retired from the U.S. Army Special Forces as a Master Sergeant Medic, a member of the Peebles Masonic Lodge #508, and the Scottish Rite Valley of Cincinnati.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Pat and Pam Nichols of Waverly; a son, David Nichols and Sandy Vance of HIllsboro; a daughter, Tammy Nichols of North Carolina; a brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Debbie Nichols of Peebles; a sister, Eppie Nichols of Scottsdale, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cremation is to take place with no services scheduled at this time. Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles is in charge of the arrangements.
