Waneta Pooler, 80, of Greenfield, died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011 at her home in Greenfield.

She was born July 27, 1930 in Fairfield County, the daughter of the late Gland Edward and Chloe (Brown) Bowles.

She was a member of the Rainsboro Church of Christ. She was formerly a cook at New Petersburg Elementary School, was a private duty caretaker, and was a homemaker. She attended the Edward Lee McClain High School. She was married to Charles Edward Pooler, who passed away on May 6, 1985.

She is survived by eight children, Jean (Butch) Yoakum of Bainbridge, Brenda Kay (Jerry) Fucci of Portsmouth, Kathy Blake of Greenfield, Tom (Carolyn) Pooler of Greenfield, Beverly (Mike) Hedrick of Chillicothe, Frank (Susan) Pooler of Greenfield, Karen Pooler of Greenfield, and Joe (Sheryl) Pooler of Frankfort; 14 grandchildren, Deron Yoakum, Doug Yoakum, Jennifer Schackart, David Long, Lacey Cottrill, Tommy Pooler, Timmy Rumfield, Sean Pooler, Kristy Anderson, Brianna Mettler, Charlie, Audrianna, and Jantzen Dettwiller, and Ryan Pooler; 10 great-grandchildren; six sisters, Sarah White, Shirley (Ronald) Leasure, Patricia (Michael) Free, Bev (Robert) Howard, Sue Lindsay, and Carol (David) Bivens; three brothers, Donald, Robert, and James (Ronda) Bowles; two sisters-in-law, Sally Bowles and Mary Alice Bowles; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas and William Bowles, and two great-granddaughters, Kadee and Cloie Cottrill.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7 at the Rainsboro Church of Christ with Mike Free officiating, with burial to follow in Roads Cemetery, near Rainsboro. Visitation will be held from 5-9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6 at the church. The Murray-Fettro Funeral Home of Greenfield is serving the family.
