Virginia (Royse) Blaine

At 3:17 p.m. Wednesday, July 14, 2010, the angels of God escorted Virginia (Royse) Blaine to her mansion in Heaven, where the Bible says there will be no more pain, no more sorrow, and no more parting. Virginia was 92 years old.
Virginia, the daughter of Austin and Addie (Jarvis) Royse, was born in Lexington, Ky., Oct. 9, 1917.
She married Robert K. Blaine Oct. 9, 1944, and they shared a loving relationship for 66 years. To this union was born one son, James A. Blaine, and one daughter, Jacalyn and Tim Emerick, all of Greenfield.
Virginia and Robert also raised Robert's brother, Franklin Blaine of Wichita, Kan.
Besides her husband and children, Virginia is survived by four grandchildren, Jini and Vince Parker of South Salem, Steve Emerick of Greenfield, Luiza and Steve Whiteside of Lebanon, and Mark Blaine of San Antonio, Texas; four great-grandchildren, Cameron and Elizabeth Whiteside and Hudson and Blaine Parker; one sister, Polly Alcorn of Mason; three brothers, Lloyd and Glenna Royse of Franklin, Tenn., Pete and Betty Royse of Springfield, Ohio, and Clifford Royse of Greenfield; and a host of other family members and friends.
Besides her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers, Irene Royse, Beulah Middaugh, Paul Royse, Norvel Royse, and Albert Royse; and by her daughter-in-law, Cheryl Blaine.
Virginia was a member of the United Brethren Church in Greenfield for over 70 years. She has been attending Anchor Baptist Church in Washington Court House. Virginia was an active participant in ministry with her husband for 66 years. She was a real prayer warrior, and carried a burden for the souls of her family and friends. She was a 1935 graduate of the Edward Lee McClain High School.
A visitation was held Friday, July 16, 2010 from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Anchor Baptist Church in Washington Court House. The funeral service was held at Anchor Baptist Church Saturday at 1 p.m. Pastor Jeremy Griffith and Rev. William Blain officiated. Burial followed in the Greenfield Cemetery.
Murray-Fettro Funeral Home of Greenfield is serving the family.
