Virginia Marie Myers Lanter, 91, of Washington C.H., died Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at Fayette County Memorial Hospital.
She was born Nov. 12, 1918 in Madison County, Ohio, the daughter of the late Cameron and Nora (Duncan) Shiltz.
She was a homemaker and attended the Good Hope Baptist Church.
She is survived by three sons, James "Shorty" (Jo Anne) Myers of Greenfield, Billy Lee Mitchell of Bainbridge, and Delbert (Marilyn) Mitchell of Greenfield; a daughter, Joan Gregory, of Leesburg; nine grandchildren, Brian Myers of Frankfort, Phillip Gregory of Greenfield, John Gregory of Columbus, Marie Cox of Leesburg, Julie Lightle of Greenfield, Bryan Mitchell of Bainbridge, Maggie Lyons of Washington C.H., Lyndsey Mincey of Greenfield, and Jesse Mitchell of Greenfield; 11 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Harold Shiltz of Washington C.H., Ray Shiltz of New Holland, and Carl Shiltz of Washington C.H.; three sisters, Ruth Stritenberger, Dorothy Dean, and Georgia Roush, all of Washington C.H.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Lanter, and a sister, Helen Evans.
Services will be held Friday, May 21 at noon at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with Rev. Phil Malone officiating. Burial will be held at the Fairview Cemetery in Jeffersonville. A visitation is scheduled for 10 a.m. until noon on Friday.
