Virginia C. Caldwell, 86, of Leesburg, died Monday, March 29, 2010 at Heartland of Hillsboro. 
She was born in Highland County on May 12, 1923, the daughter of the late Charles E. and Marguerite (Johnson) Temple. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest Dean Caldwell, who died on Oct. 1, 1981; two brothers, William and Edwin Temple; two sisters, Dorothy Walker and Mildred West; and a son-in-law, Paul Edward Parshall.
Virginia retired from Fairfield Local Schools after 32 years of service. She was a member of Samantha Friends Church.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in law, Tom and Kathy Caldwell of Hillsboro and a daughter, Sheila Parshall of Leesburg. Other survivors include a brother, Robert Temple of Texas; brothers-in law, Roger Walker of Hillsboro and William West of Lynchburg; a sister-in-law, Helen Temple, of Leesburg; five grandchildren, Patrick (Amanda) Parshall, Pauletta Mann, Tim (Michelle) Caldwell, Matt (Jennifer) Caldwell, and Jeana Caldwell. Also surviving are eight great grandchildren, Zander and Liberty Parshall, Brandon and Erica Mann, McKenzie, Trevor and Leah Caldwell, and Collyn Schraw and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 2, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Samantha Friends Church with Reverend Robert Temple officiating. 
Burial will follow in the Hightop Cemetery. 
Friends may call at the Samantha Friends Church from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 1, 2010. Arrangements are being made through Thompson Funeral Home of Hillsboro.
