Virgil P. Workman, 79, of Franklin, formerly of the Highland County area, died Monday evening, Feb. 1, 2010 at the Franklin Ridge Nursing Home. 
He was born April 1, 1930, in Highland County, a son of the late Robert and Winona (Kain) Workman.
He was an antiques dealer for many years.
He is survived by two daughters, Linda Bassett and her husband James of Dixon, Mo. and Rebecca Workman; 14 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Eileen Ashworth of Ashland, Ky., Jane (Randy) Minzler of Jeffersonville and Marjorie (Gary) McNeal of Chillicothe.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Maria Lee Workman and Ruth Ann Workman; a grandson, Otis Brock; a brother, Robert Dale Workman; and his step-father, Burch Coss.
Graveside funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010 at the Dunkard Ridge Cemetery.  Pastor Dennis Workman will officiate.  There will be no visitation.
