Vernon James Nace, 64, of the Latham Community, died Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009 at his residence. 
He was born August 14, 1945 in Latham, Ohio, the son of the late Alpheus and Bessie (Wilburn) Nace.
Vernon retired in 2007 from the Western Pike School District.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Malone) Nace; one son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Hillary Nace of Chillicothe; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lori and John Howard of Waverly, Amy and Bob Tooill of Lancaster, Ohio; one stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Beth and Bob Farmer of Waverly; eight grandchildren, Justin and Megan Howard, Megan and Colton Tooill, Jelyn Nace, and Adam, Jacob and Joshua Farmer; two nieces, Twyla McJunkin of Piketon and Cindy Jessee of Waverly; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Russell and Ruth Malone of Peebles.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Carolyn McJunkin.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family. 
Burial will be held in the Washburn Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Wylie-Thompson Funeral Home in Sinking Spring, Ohio. 
Family requests memorials to R.O.A.R.S., “reaching out for autism research and support”, 149 Creekview Drive, Chillicothe, Ohio 45601.
