Thomas J. Ward, 60, of Hillsboro, died Wednesday, Sept. 15 at his residence. 

He was born in Highland County on Dec. 1, 1949, the son of the late Walter Eugene and Charma Cameron Reno, who survives. 

He is also survived by one sister, Gloria Fulkerson, of Wilmington; one nephew, Eric (Amy) Fulkerson, of Hillsboro; two nieces, Judy (Chris) Neville of Jamestown and Lori (Tim) Blair of Sardinia; five great nieces and nephews; and a host of cousins and friends. 

Mr. Ward was a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Vietnam War. He later worked as a machine operator at Randall’s in Wilmington. He was an avid fan of Ohio State, the Cincinnati Reds and the Bengals. 

A memorial graveside service will be held at 1 p.m.. on Monday, Sept. 20 at Dunkard Ridge Cemetery with military honors provided by the Highland County Honor Guard.

The Thompson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
