Stephen Richard Nartker, 64, of Hillsboro, died Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at the Heartland of Hillsboro Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  
He was born Dec. 5, 1945 in Cincinnati, the son of the late Sylvester and Jean Lewis Nartker.  
He had lived in Cherry fork, and then in the spring of 1947, his family moved to the Fairview area where he grew up with his brothers and sisters on the farm.   
He was a veteran of the United Sates Air Force, serving during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Hillsboro American Legion Raymond R. Stout Post #129, AMVETS Post #61, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #1161, and the Hillsboro Elks #361where he was Past Exalted Ruler. 
He is survived by three children, Michael (Amy) Nartker of Hillsboro, Greg (Angie) Nartker of Waverly, and Shonee Nartker of Hillsboro; three grandchildren, Makaela Nartker, Tyler Nartker and Ashlie Hillyer; five siblings, Anna Jean (Tim) Butler of Hillsboro, Patty (Glenn) Miller of Destin, Fla., Eugene “Butch” (Sharma) Nartker of Hillsboro, Larry (Sandra) Nartker of Hillsboro, and Danny (Donna) Nartker of Greenfield; and several nieces and nephews.  
Funeral services will be held  2 p.m. Tuesday, June 22 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home, Hillsboro. Tom Napier will officiate. Burial will follow in the Barnes Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Monday, June 21 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home.  
Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Cincinnati Office, 644 Linn Street, Suite 304, Cincinnati, Ohio 45203; or Heartland of Hillsboro Activity Fund, 1141 Northview Drive, Hillsboro, Ohio 45133.
